Running in the Snow, so tranquil, so peaceful

Christmas has come and gone for another year and now it's time to get back to normality. Back to a normal diet sans:

wine
peanuts
chocolate
wine
pie

... did I mention wine? :)

We didn't get a white Christmas here in Calgary but the day after Boxing Day we did get some snow!

Thankfully the temp wasn't too cold this morning... a balmy -4c with light winds and snow!!.

The perfect time to enjoy a run along the Bow River and take in the beautiful scenery.

There is something magical about running during a snowfall.

Maybe it's the stark contrasts: The crunch, crunch of fresh snow under each stride, seeing the heat from each breath evaporate out into the chilled, peaceful air.

Days like today make me realize just how lucky it is to run.
